Hi! I'm Katie Holm, and welcome to Katherine Luisa Photography. I am a licensed, professional lifestyle photographer serving Ann Arbor, Michigan and the surrounding area. A Michigan native, I have recently returned home after 10 years living the Navy life with my husband around the country. I am so happy to be back!
I began taking photos for others while living in Washington state, stationed at Whidbey Island. The beauty of the Pacific Northwest absolutely captivated me, and I was inspired to start documenting people's connections with each other. I strive to help each of my clients tell their story and represent them in an authentic, timeless way that they will be proud to share with future generations.
When I'm not taking photos, you can find me walking trails with my pup, doing crafts and activities with my 2 kids, and spending quality time with my family. I'm a homebody, but I love to explore new areas and meet new people! My family continually inspires me to look for the small, beautiful details of everyday life. They are my why, and the reason I love to document the same for others!
Some fun facts about me:
- I named my business "Katherine Luisa" because that's my name! Though, I have always gone by Katie. I received my middle name, Luisa, after my abuelita. I wanted a way to honor my Mexican heritage and identity within my business!
- I was a gymnast for the majority of my childhood. I still love to randomly do cartwheels!
- I am learning ASL (American Sign Language)! It has always fascinated me. I signed a little bit with my oldest daughter when she was a baby and it inspired me to keep learning!
I love meeting and connecting with each of my clients, so that I can help tell their unique story in a way that reflects them and their individuality. Getting to know new friends is one of my favorite things about this job, and my greatest hope is that I can help you to tell your truth in the most authentic way possible.
